Overview of the bedroom furniture. Ralph made the bed, chests, tables and lamps. The primary wood is maple. The panels in the bed and tables, and the top drawer fronts in the chests are birds-eye maple.
Ralph also made the roman shade that looks a lot like the blue pillow shams and the breadspread we use in the summer. If you are thinking of making a roman shade from a bedspread, just say no. The fabric is not appropriate for a roman shade.
The bed has three large drawers on each side. The drawer fronts are grain-matched solid maple.

The drawer boxes are all made from 9-ply maple veneer plywood. They are assembled with dominos (similar to dowels). Fast, strong and completely hidden.
The tables have three legs to allow access to the drawers. The panels in the tables are 1/4" thick solid birds-eye maple.
The lamps are only 5 pieces of wood. Pretty simple in concept. Execution is a bit of a trick.
