This is the US Geological Survey station on campus. It is a nice old building that seems out of place.

The Alaskan interior plain is very flat and the air is clear. The tall mountain in the middle is Denali. It is about 120 miles away.

The campus had many nice trails like this, just to the west.

The airport was easy to see from the ridge the campus is on. If you have sharp eyes, you can see the water runway that runs right next to the hard surface runway.

Looking almost due north on a road just north of campus not long after midnight. The sun does go down, but very briefly.
